Darya focuses on Strategic Wealth Management for high net worth families, nonprofits, foundations and endowments. Her investment process draws upon her knowledge of asset allocation, investment management, and income and estate tax issues and structures. As a Financial Advisor to family wealth and/or foundation and endowment clients, Darya brings a wealth of knowledge of the investment markets, 22 years of experience in financial services, and draws on the significant institutional and consulting resources of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Darya is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, "MSSB", where she has spent almost 15 years of her career. After earning her CPA at KPMG Peat Marwick ? Nonprofit practice group, she joined Morgan Stanley in New York, now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, and later worked for MSSB in Chicago and Los Angeles. Darya earned her BA from Kalamazoo College, Certificate in Accounting from Northwestern University, and her MBA in Finance from Fordham University.

Darya is the current president of the Los Angeles Chapter of Advisors in Philanthropy, serves on the boards of the Los Angeles Westside YMCA and Mann Healthcare Partners, and is the founder of Broads Circle, an executive women's networking group.

DANA HOLLINGER, JD
Principal, Dana Hollinger Group

Dana Hollinger, J.D is founder of the Dana Hollinger Group. Dana specializes in income, estate and business succession tax planning. Dana's unique expertise is in designing life insurance policies and capital transfer strategies that protect and maximize the assets of successful entrepreneurs and other high net worth individuals.

She was personally selected by John Anderson of the Anderson School of Business at UCLA and noted Philanthropist to join a group of 30 leading business women and female philanthropists that were personally mentored by John Anderson from 2000-2010. Dana has been in WHO'S WHO in American Law and is frequently a featured speaker to business professional organizations and has had many articles featured in various trade journals including the Daily Journal and Physician's Money Digest. Dana was asked to join the Harvard University's Women's Leadership Board to the John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2004. She currently serves on the executive committee to the President.

KAREN MILES
Managing Director, Houlihan Lokey

Ms. Miles is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey's Los Angeles office, where she heads the Financial Advisory Services business for Southern California. She co-chairs the firm's Technical Standards Committee, which determines the appropriate methodologies for dealing with valuation issues. She is a leader in the firm's West Coast Tax & Financial Reporting Valuation practice and also co-chairs the Estate and Gift Tax Engagement Committee.

Ms. Miles has over 20 years of experience in valuation and financial consulting, with emphasis on the valuation of businesses, securities and intangible assets. Her experience includes fairness opinions, solvency opinions, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment analyses, valuations for transactions, financings, gift & estate tax planning, ESOPs, dissolutions and litigation. She has consulted on ownership transition issues and liquidity alternatives. She has also testified as an expert witness in depositions and trials, and has served as a court-appointed referee.

Ms. Miles earned her B.A. in business administration at the University of Southern California and her MBA at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

DOUGLAS W. SCHWARTZ
Partner, Nossaman LLP

Douglas Schwartz specializes in tax matters (international, federal, state, and local) as they affect individual and compensation planning; business formations, transactions, and operations; charities, public pension systems, and other tax-exempt entities; and investments in different asset classes and investment vehicles. He has a comprehensive understanding of the complex local, state, and federal laws and regulations that affect personal and business taxes for a wide variety of industries, including entertainment, internet, manufacturing, real estate, sports, nonprofit, and public agencies, and including advice on sales and use tax; Proposition 13; documentary transfer; and local business license taxes in addition to income and franchise taxes.

Turkey Vultures on the Empty House (Saline, Michigan) Medium
This house is on Macon in Saline Township (down by the old Saline Airport). There must have been 10-20 vultures hanging out around the house. I did see some in the backyard as well. I wonder what that does to the property value!
